Tulp Hoofdklasse Men - Winter report

𝐓𝐡𝐞 Tulp Hoofdklasse 𝐌𝐞𝐧 - 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭

Last week we published the winter report of the Ladies Tulp Hoofdklasse (https://lnkd.in/eqrqTAwt). This week, we focus on the men!

- First the obvious, HC Bloemendaal is having an amazing season. This is mostly driven by their high penalty corner conversion by Marc Miralles, Jasper Brinkman and Teun Beins.
- Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club (AH&BC) is performing better than expected, also pushed by their penalty conversion rate with a lot of variations. Did we mention they use our penalty corner dashboard 😉 ?
- Hockey Club Klein Zwitserland, The Hague, Holland is underperforming. This might be due to the injury of Aki Käppeler.

Tulp Hoofdklasse Ladies - Winter report

Just as last year, we have analyzed the performance of the Ladies Tulp Hoofdklasse. However, this year we are also analyzing this halfway through the year!

Some key figures stand out:
- The ladies of Hockeyclub SCHC have the highest positive difference in terms of Expected Goals. This is impressive as this is the first year under their new coach Gilles van Hesteren 🎆
- The ladies of HHV HDM | Haagse HockeyVereniging ‘Haagsche Delftsche Mixed’, HC Oranje-Rood and Huizer Hockeyclub all perform significantly worse than their Expected Goals ❌
- The ladies of Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club (AH&BC) have increased their cornerpercentage from 10% to nearly 17%. Perhaps because of Agustina Gorzelany but it might also be due to the use of the De Dataduck corner overview 😀

Intensity trackers

At THC Hurley, we have been tracking the physical load of players in Men's 1 and Women's 1 teams. We did this using the JOHAN Sports system and through questionnaires.

Now we are going to take this a step further! The physical (distance covered, sprints) and match data (number of chances, goals, corners) of the Men's 1 squad will be made public and freely accessible for the 2023/2024 season!

The data clearly shows insights such as:
🎯 The number of goals and chances per match throughout the season (including the successful playoffs 😉)
💨 The total distance covered per match and training session per player
🏸 RPE and ''fun'' statistics as filled in by players
📈 The statistics the staff monitors to prevent overloading
